The engine, gearbox and the drive-train were all developed from the racing D Type which won the Le-Mans in 1955, 1956 and 1957 and are totally bullet proof, with only simple regular maintenance required.
This car loved in Eire for many years and is totally original. It was purchased by the present owner at an auction sale without knowledge of her husband when his back was turned… just because it looked nice.
Jaguar boss William Lyons launched the E Type in 1961 and thought he could see 3,000 in the first year. After its launch at Earls Court he has order for 30,000 cars. Three were requested by Albert Broccoli for James Bond however, William Lyons would not release any cars for filming purposes.
