The time has come for our old faithful Land Rover Defender 110 County Pickup to find a new home. After many years of being a workhorse carrying & towing heavy stuff, poor old Ruby suffered with terrible chassis pain. It was a difficult decision for us; take her out onto the farm where she worked tirelessly and shoot her, or buy her a new Galvanized back and undertake the highly risky surgery of a full body and internals transplant. We couldn’t find it in our hearts to carry out the former, so the latter it was.
After a very long procedure, thankfully Ruby pulled through, and has a new lust for life with her new forever home. Fires-up first time of asking, and the mighty TD5 motor pulls as well as ever. Bodywork is good (better than many younger models!), and the interior doesn’t reflect the mileage.
We have replaced both front outer seat bases, but other than that haven’t had to do much other than a good valet. Maintained by us at Lister Motor Company, and drives really well. The rare colour Alveston red Micatallic makes this Defender stand out from the grey crowd too! Keep as she is, or add some nice wheels and fancy lights! Either way, a great truck ready for the next adventure.
