From 1988, a special XJR-S version of the V12 5.3 litre car was produced by Jaguar Sport, a separate company owned 50:50 by Jaguar and TWR. These cars had a distinctive body kit, unique alloys wheels and suspension, and improved handling over the standard car. The first 100 produced where termed “Celebration Le Mans”, this car being one of only 350 built to celebrate the triumph of Jaguar in the 1987 World Sports Car Championship and the 1988 victory at Le Mans by Jaguar and TWR.
Many of these special Jaguar XJS’s went into private collections never to be seen again. As such, we are delighted to offer to market a true piece of British motoring history that would be an excellent ownership experience as a standalone car, in any collection, or as a car any committed Jaguar collector should have
This car registered on 15/5/1989 and has covered 12827 miles by only two owners. Finished in Artic Blue with Champagne leather and Green Piping, accompanied by a documented service history along with all the press releases and marketing materials of the time. Supplied a set of spare keys and service pack all kept in a matching Champagne Leather folder. It also has a fitted Jaguar car cover and a period picnic basket.
The condition of this car, as you would expect is outstanding and belies it’s age. This “Big Cat” is truly a car that anybody would be proud to own and enjoy, whilst maintaining a piece of history of the Jaguar marque and its motor racing pedigree. The second owner acquired the car in November 2005, and remained in his care until nearly 20 years later when we purchased for our owner’s personal collection. The car remains a 2 owner car with the DVLA, adding to the rarity.
You simply will not find a better example on the market, we are confident of that. A truly stunning car which will grace any collection.
All our vehicles are supplied with a 12 Month Warrantywise Classic Car Policy to enhance buyer confidence.
